Rabbi Abraham Cooper
Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center

Rabbi Cooper is a longtime activist for Jewish and human rights causes. He has testified before the United Nations, the US Senate, the Japanese Diet and the French Parliament. His op-ed pieces regularly appear in major newspapers in the U.S. and abroad.

Yukihisa Fujita
Member of the Japanese Diet

Mr. Fujita is a member of the House of Councilors of the Japanese Diet and belongs to the Democratic Party of Japan. He is also a longtime member of Swiss based organization, Initiatives of Change, serving on the International Advisory Council of its Agenda for Reconciliation project.

Edward Jackfert
Former POW, Retired IRS Special Agent, Criminal Investigator

Mr. Jackfert spent 3 years during WWII as a POW slave laborer in Japan. He was twice (1984, 1999) elected National Commander of the American Defenders of Bataan & Corregidor, Inc., a national veteran's organization. He is the author of Service to My Country.
 
John B. Lewis
Retired Army Officer,  Former Mayor of City of Jersey Village, TX

Mr. Lewis is the son of
Lt. Col. John L. Lewis, who died on Japanese POW transport Hellship, the Brazil Maru, in January of 1945. He maintains Japanese-pow Home Page and is the moderator of Japanese-pow Listserv.


Sascha  Weinzheimer Jansen
Vice-Commander for BACEPOW, Bay Area Civilian Ex-POW organization which is part of the national, American Ex-POW organization

Ms. Jansen's childhood experience in Santo Tomas civilian POW camp in Manila was featured in the PBS documentary, “The War.” She now organizes tours to
historic WWII sites in the Philippines.

Wes Injerd
Researcher, POW camps in Japan

Mr. Injerd lived in Japan for 28 years until his return to the U.S. in 2002. While living in Fukuoka, Japan, he began his research on POW camp sites in the area, resulting in his website, Prisoner of War Camp #1, Fukuoka, Japan.  He created the "Slideshow" section for this website.

Roger Mansell
Executive Director,
Center for Research: Allied POWS Under the Japanese

Mr. Mansell has been extensively researching on Allied POWs of the Japanese. He frequently visits the National Archives to unearth POW related documents. He compiled the "Glossary" section for this website.
